John Miller brings 20 years of local and international real estate experience to buyers and sellers of residential and income property throughout Orange County. John owned his own brokerage for many years and was an Estates Director with the Fred Sands company of Beverly Hills. He is now a Broker Associate with Prudential California Realty and has been recognized as among the top sales agents in North America

Born in Reading, England, John was raised in Africa and attended school in Nairobi, Kenya. Speaking Swahili from childhood, he accompanied his father on safaris throughout East Africa. John returned to England to study law at London University, but after taking his intermediate bar exams, he suffered a severe accident, falling 90 feet off a scaffolding into a concrete basement! Following 2 years in hospital, John joined with an old friend, the recording artist Roger Whittaker, singing and playing guitar throughout the UK and Europe. But Africa called, and for the next 12 years John built and ran Swala Safaris, promoting his safaris in the USA and personally conducting long-range expeditions through 14 countries across the Sahara, West, Central and East Africa. For pioneering new exploratory routes across the Sahara Desert, John was invited to become a member of the elite Explorers Club of New York.John is secretary of the BABC in Orange County and has been a board member for the past 8 years.

John Kuykendall is an experienced consultant in the field of employee benefits. Over the years he has been responsible for helping hundreds of client companies and organizations to maximize the impact and minimize the cost of their fringe benefit programs.

He has extensive experience in the evaluation, design and implementation of flexible benefit plans (Section 125), partial and full self-funding of benefits, pension, profit sharing, 457 and 401(k) plans, health savings accounts (HSAs), managed health care and wellness programs. He is a registered securities representative and a registered investment advisor.

John has worked in management with the largest insurance company in the employee benefits field, been a consultant with an international consulting firm and managed the regional operations of one of the West’s largest brokerage firms.

Long active in industry affairs, John serves on the Board of Directors of both the National Human Resources Association and the British American Business Council. He is also Past President of the Orange County Employee Benefit Council.

John holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College. He teaches the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) curriculum through the Insurance Educational Association and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado.

 


Shaun Robinson

Shaun Robinson hails originally from Liverpool, England and has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality business. Shaun served his apprenticeship in England at the Edgcumbe Hotel in Cornwall, England while attending Camborne Hotel School before arriving in America in November 1983.

During his 26 years with Hilton Hotels, Robinson has also held general manager positions in Costa Mesa, Del Mar and Scottsdale, as well as holding senior management posts in San Diego, Irvine, Minneapolis and Beverly Hills prior to coming to Anaheim in March 2011.

Shaun has held BABC Board positions in San Diego and Phoenix and is currently a Board Member of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitors and Conference Bureau.

Shaun is an avid soccer player and is married to Rochelle and the couple have three sons, Robert 19, Shaun 16 and Matthew 12.

Andrew M. Griffiths joined the board of the Orange County chapter of the BABC in 2002 as Treasurer, having previously been a member of the Los Angeles chapter since the mid-1990s. He was named as chapter President for 2007 and 2008. Since February 2004, Andy has been employed at Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Fleetwood is one of the nation’s leaders in producing both recreational vehicles and manufactured housing. From 2002 to 2004, he was a Managing Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Previously, he had 15 years of experience with Arthur Andersen, becoming a partner in 1999. He is both a certified public accountant and a chartered accountant.

Mitchell L. Wexler, Is a partner and Immigration Attorney of Fragomen, Del Rey, Berson & Loewry, LLP located in Irvine, CA. He attended Business School of Hofstra University (B.A., 1982), and Southwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1985). In addition to being an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), he currently serves as a national mentor on Labor Certifications. Mitch is a past Chair of AILA’s Southern California chapter and he is also a past vice chair and a commissioner of the State Bar of California’s Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Committee. Mitch is an elected member of the firm’s national Executive Committee.

Mitch is certified as a specialist in immigration and nationality law and is certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Sarah Agee has been a professional in the executive search industry for more than fourteen years. Sarah formed Sterling Search in 2002 and has focused this practice on non-profit, senior management and financial services. She was formerly with, Korn/Ferry International—Futurestep, for four years where she was a Generalist and a Principal of the non-profit, education and healthcare practices. Ms Agee was responsible for acquiring new clients and executing such searches to a successful conclusion. Prior to Korn-Ferry International- Futurestep. Sarah spent six years with various recruiting firms in the United Kingdom and United States of America. Born in what was then Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, Benadretti attended Falcon College and the Universities of Cape Town and the Witwatersrand in South Africa and holds a number of degrees and diplomas in Business and Marketing. He moved to Orange County in 1986 with his family.

A co-founder of SYSPRO USA in 1987, Benadretti serves as President and Joint Managing Director for the company where he has concentrated on building an in-depth organization to meet the growing needs of both the company’s expanding reseller channel and its user base of midmarket manufacturing and distribution clients. He has also been a driving factor in gaining significant international industry recognition for SYSPRO, including three “Company of the Year” awards as well as a long list of other top industry honors and accolades. Today, SYSPRO is one of the most respected and notable software companies in the USA.

Prior to joining SYSPRO, he worked as a senior management consultant in direct marketing systems and techniques. He also ran his own business, recruiting top notch young athletes for sports scholarships in the United States.

Joey Benadretti is the recipient of numerous awards that have recognized his leadership in business and the software industry and he remains very active in many areas of education, community and technology. He joined this board of the of the BABC in 2010.

John R. Gibson, MBChB, MRCP (UK), FRCP (Glasgow) is the President and CEO of Healthwise International, Inc., Orange County, CA, U.S.A.; President and CEO of Jangus Music, Inc., Orange County, CA, U.S.A.; and Investor In/Fundraiser for a Portfolio of 7 Start-up Companies in the “CleanTech” and Healthcare Areas. He was the Senior Vice President, Global Development at Allergan, Irvine, California for 15 years. He also served as Volunteer Clinical Professor of Dermatology, UCI, Irvine, California. He received his medical degree from Glasgow University in 1973, and subsequently trained in general medicine, infectious diseases and pediatrics in Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom. Development as a Dermatologist occurred in parallel with an industry career. He was appointed Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal London Hospital, England in 1982. He has significant international (29 years) experience in all aspects of drug development with three major pharmaceutical companies (Wellcome, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Allergan); and a track record of product approvals worldwide in the fields of dermatology, ophthalmology and neurology, with additional experience in oncology, allergy and anti-infectives, including anti-virals. Paul Jenkinson was born in Auckland, New Zealand and has worked during his career in the US, Germany, England and New Zealand. Paul is a chartered accountant, professionally qualifying with Deloitte and Touche. Since leaving New Zealand in 1987, Paul has worked in The City (London’s financial district) in merchant banking, later accepting a role in Slough for the European HQ of Stanley Black & Decker. During his time with Stanley Black & Decker, Paul managed and led finance functions in as varied locations as Perugia Italy to Pacoima Los Angeles, spending 4 years in Wokingham, Berkshire with a further 7 years in Wiesbaden, Germany. Paul joined Irvine based Allergan Inc. in 2006 and since then has led the corporate finance and commercial finance teams.

Paul graduated from Otago University with degrees in Accounting/Finance and Marketing and has been a director with the BABCOC since April 2010.

Darlene McGrath is Vice-Consul, Financial & Professional Business Services, UK Trade & Investment, at the British Consulate-General in Los Angeles.

UK Trade & Investment is the government department that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy and assists overseas companies to bring their high-quality investment to the UK.

Ms. McGrath was raised and educated in Paisley, Scotland, and worked for both Strathclyde Regional Council and Argyll & Clyde Health Board. Ms. McGrath was also a part-time tutor at Reid Kerr College, Paisley, in the IT Department.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Ms. McGrath worked with Barclays Private Bank & Trust, and Barclays Bank Plc, in Jersey, Channel Islands UK.

Ms. Szalontai is an investment banking consulting professional focusing on mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial advisory services. She spent the last seven years at McGladrey Capital Markets and has been involved in numerous sell-side M&A engagements in an array of industries. As a business valuation professional, she has worked closely with private middle-market business owners and senior managers, helping them understand current and prospective value-drivers and the corresponding strategic positioning of their companies in the mergers and acquisitions marketplace. Since 2007, Ms. Szalontai was also responsible for the firm’s international operations, leading its Mumbai, India-based associates. Prior to joining McGladrey Capital Markets Ms. Szalontai was an analysts at Corporate Finance Partners, a boutique investment bank in Frankfurt, Germany. She also held positions at Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney, primarily performing portfolio restructuring and market analysis.

Ms. Szalontai, who was born in Hungary and raised in Germany, is fluent in German, French, Spanish, Hungarian and English.
